Isolate target zones with greater confidence

Effective zonal isolation is essential for successful well intervention operations. Yet maintaining seal integrity, managing pressure differentials, and delivering treatment fluids to the intended interval can be challenging, particularly in mature wells and complex completion environments.

Without accurate downhole visibility, operators may face uncertainty when isolating production zones, performing remedial treatments, or evaluating treatment effectiveness. These challenges can increase operational risk, extend intervention time, and limit access to targeted intervals.

Operators need a reliable way to isolate zones, place fluids precisely, and perform multiple intervention objectives while maintaining well access and operational efficiency.

Deliver precise zonal isolation and fluid placement in a single run

The zonal isolation service, part of ACTive™ real-time downhole coiled tubing services, enables temporary or permanent zonal isolation during CT interventions through continuous monitoring of downhole forces, depth, and pressure differentials across sealing elements and tools. Real-time measurements help control the pressure differential across the isolation system, improving sealing performance and reducing operational risk during intervention operations.

The service can be deployed with the ACTive straddle, an inflatable packer, which provides a reliable multiset mechanism and a high-pressure seal across a wide range of operating conditions. This combination enables operators to isolate specific intervals and perform multiple remedial operations through existing wellbore access points, including open perforations, fracture ports, ICDs, and sliding sleeves, often without killing the well.

By continuously monitoring packer setting, sealing element performance, fluid placement, and downhole forces, the service provides the information needed to optimize treatment placement and intervention execution in real time. The result is more effective zonal isolation, improved intervention efficiency, and greater confidence in operational decisions.
