How it improves performance

The ResSight? high accuracy resistivity logging-while-drilling service improves reservoir understanding and drilling performance by providing reliable multidepth resistivity measurements in real time while drilling. These measurements help identify formation boundaries, distinguish hydrocarbon- and water-bearing zones, and estimate water saturation more accurately. The information supports better well placement, early detection of pressure changes for mud weight optimization, and faster drilling decisions, ultimately reducing uncertainty and improving drilling efficiency.

How it works

The ResSight service measures resistivity at two frequencies—2 MHz and 400 kHz—using five geometrically distributed transmitter-receiver spacings. Multiple operating frequencies combined with physically compensated antennas reduce borehole rugosity effects on the measurement quality. Signal digitization at the receiver, advanced application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) electronics, and optimized electronics-gain management significantly reduce noise, improving both measurement precision and accuracy. Multiple depths of investigation also allow to monitor invasion and other borehole changes over time.

What it replaces

ResSight service combined with the TruSight? intelligent telemetry definitive dynamic survey tool replaces the ImPulse? integrated MWD platform and provides improved propagation-resistivity measurement range and accuracy using two frequencies (2 MHz and 400 kHz) and five geometrically distributed spacings.
